Sports Marketing & The Internet

As professionalism infiltrates deeper into the Internet fabric of the nation, Internet marketing reveals itself to be a potent weapon in the marketing arsenal. Increasingly, we are seeing the movement of marketing dollars into the new media.

Sports Marketing is a big business, generally associated with professional sports. In today's lexicon, how do we define it? Sports Marketing programs have been built around the team (e.g.,) Toronto Blue Jays, The athlete, (Wayne Gretsky) The property (Grey Cup.) Where major events are concerned, the "driver" tends to be television or another form of media coverage which in turn attract major advertisers.

The new media (Internet) and the beauty of Sports Marketing is that it works at the grassroots level, which is where most business reside. The affinity of local amateur sports and the Internet are ideal for sports marketing.

While the majority of these sports lack mass appeal, there are sufficient supporters to warrant affordable sponsorship involvement. The Internet and our website meet the needs of both advertisers and the local sports community. In order to experience high volumes of exposure, the key objective of our website is to appeal to all athletes of all sports. Focusing on giving the spotlight to athletes and sports groups that need and deserve exposure. Our Sportpass fund-raising promotion will help all organization who need funding. Associating as a sponsor of Scoreboard Canada is one way local merchants can be involved with "Sports Marketing."

City scoreboards (i.e. - SCOREBOARD MISSISSAUGA) are best described as an electronic newspaper and are the driving force behind promoting the Sportpass program. City scoreboard sections are an ideal vehicle for merchants to promote their products and services. Athletes and Associations achievements, up-coming events are also be posted here.
