302 GETTING A LEAD OFF

1. Never cross your left foot over your right foot. Shuffle off the bag, about
two or three steps.
2. Never slide, feet first back into a bag. Always head first, or jump back.
3. Increase your lead off two or three steps as the pitcher releases the ball to
home-plate.
Note: The only time you use the cross over step is when you are going to steal or it is a hit and run.
