600 THE WALL THEORY
Using, an ordinary wall to practice throwing and fielding
I picked up this idea from the book "Prophet Of The Sandlots" a journey with the major league scout Tony Lucadello. Working for the Philadelphia Phillies he was able to convince many minor league organizations in Ohio to build cement walls inside their complexes so that the kids could throw balls at them. This drill is also featured in Major League Baseball's instructional video "The Major League Way".
1. Use any wall at least 4 feet high.
2. Practice proper throwing and fielding techniques with each throw. If this is a
team drill, form a line and take turns.
3. Practice for 10 to 15 minutes at a time, any longer and you could get tired
and start developing bad habits.
4.You can use a rubber ball in your basement or garage during the winter
months.
