REMEMBERING BARRIE SALT

Barrie Salt died on Tuesday, January 25, 2000. He was 58 and would have been 59 in April. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Lynda, and his son, Blair.

Barrie was a long-time member of Clarkson Lorne Park Baseball Association. He coached in our Association from 1985 until 1998. He served on our Executive as OBA Convenor from 1992-1996, as Director of Player Development in 1997 and as Assistant Executive Director from 1998-1999. Barrie volunteered endless hours running tournaments, working bingos, packing equipment bags, and just simply helping out as needed. Without a doubt, Barrie was involved with baseball for the sake of the kids and our Association is better and stronger because of Barrie's efforts.

Barrie also served baseball at the Central Ontario Baseball Association level, being elected President of COBA in October 1999 and at the Baseball Ontario level, being elected 3rd Vice-President in November 1999.

All of baseball will miss his laughter and determination.
