UQTR super sniper and Dalhousie track star provide top performances Ottawa, ON: The "Source for Sports� CIAU Athletes of the Week" for the period ending January 28th, 2001 are track rookie Adrienne Power of the Dalhousie Tigers and freshman forward Alexandre Tremblay of the UQTR
Alexandre Tremblay UQTR Patriotes Hockey 1st Year Commerce Beaupr�, Qu�bec
Tremblay was sensational for the #2 ranked UQTR Patriotes over the pastweek. The freshman sniper participated in 9 of his teams 11 goals in two OUA confrontations. Saturday, versus the OUA Centrals second place Queens Golden Gaels, the Beaupr�, QC native scored two goals and assisted on two others in a 4-4 draw. Sunday, the Patriotes regained their winning form with a convincing 7-1 win over third place RMC. Tremblay added another two goals and three more assists to bring his season totals to 23G-19A-42Pts. UQTR remains the only undefeated team in the country (18-0-1) with 37 points.

Adrienne Power Dalhousie Tigers Track and Field 1st Year Commerce East Jeddor, NS Adrienne led the Tigers at the U de M Bleu et Or Invitational Track and Field event held in Moncton on the weekend, setting new Dalhousie and Nova Scotia Junior records in the Long Jump (5.79 m) and 60 Meter Sprint (7.70 seconds). Her fantastic efforts moved her to the #1 ranking in the CIAU Long Jump and #4 in the 60 Meter Sprint.

CIAU Athletes of Week receive a $25 gift certificate from Source for Sports�, redeemable at any of the over 160 locations across Canada. The CIAU, which is the national governing body of university sport in Canada, is composed of the majority of degree granting universities in the country. Forty-nine members, over 12,000 student-athletes and 500 coaches vie for 19 National Championships in 11 different sports. No other sportorganization in the country can match the breadth and scope of such a program.
