Going into our 80th year, we are all saddened by the loss of our President, Barrie Salt. Others will have to carry the torch to ensure that his legacy, and those that have gone before will inspire us now and in the future to continue to strive to be a guiding light for Minor Baseball in Ontario.
Barrie presided over and skilfully lead a COBA group of volunteers, who once again showed that hard work, collective talent and dedication to the spirit of this great game continue to be recognized by Baseball Ontario and its member Associations.
Barrie would be the first to say that we all don't perform our functions out of a sense of elitism, ego or selfishness but purely for the love of the game and all its participants.
On behalf of Barrie, we commend the outstanding efforts made by the players, coaches, umpires and all our volunteers in the past year.
If we all continue to perform in the spirit of Barrie Salt, the future of COBA baseball bodes very well indeed.
Respectfully submitted,
COBA Gold Book Committee
in memory of Barrie Salt
