ITS SILVER FOR MITE ALL-STARS AT GRUELLING GUILDWOOD TOURNAMENT
July 22 was a test of endurance for the Mite All-Stars in Guildwood, that had them play four games back-to-back before moving on to the championship game very late in the day.
The first four games were decisive victories for the solid playing Tigers, defeating Brampton 24-5, Unionville 34-13, Eringate 22-5 and Chinguacousy 18-3. With a one and a half hour rest, Mississauga North went on to compete for the Championship by playing Chinguacousy for the second time in a row. The setting of the sun coincided with the final pitch of the day that ended with Ching winning the championship and the All-Star Tigers as finalists.

All-Star Tigers Roar at First Two Tournaments
Mississauga, On. - The MNBA Mite All-Stars have won Silver and Bronze medals at their first two tournaments. The 9 & 10 year-olds kicked off their tournament season recently in Mississauga where they outscored the opposition 63-17 over four games: Eringate 23-7, Whitby 30-4, Guildwood 7-3; and a 6-3 loss against Chinguacousy for the Silver medal. Chinguacousy coaching staff selected Tiger Natalie Wideman as MVP of the final game.
In a second tournament, the team traveled to Brampton to meet new teams, including Chinguacousy on their home turf. After winning 22-3 against Leaside and 24-8 against Eringate, the team was defeated by Chinguacousy. The Tigers went on to beat Unionville 37-3 for the Bronze medal. Stacey Austick was chosen by the Unionville team as MVP of the final game.
Other players contributing to strong tournament play include Lauren Carroll, Jennifer McDonald, C.J. Lestage, Lindsey Adams, Hayley Ostrowski, Lynn Nowolselski, Heather Paquette, Kailey Borg, Callan Long, Erin Parsons and Lisa Nanakdawa. SILVER FOR SQUIRT ALL-STARS
MNBA Squirt All-Stars captured the Silver medal in Newmarket on July 8. After losing a close one to Eringate, 5-4, the team came back to beat Brampton Grey 9-3, then won the Silver medal by defeating Chinguacousy 13-8. Mississaugas MVP was Samantha Toth.
A great effort was also put in by the rest of the team: Deanna Brandon, Danielle Desautels, Allison Forrest, Breanne McCallion, Taylor Moore, Claire Long, Lisa Nikolic, Natalie Palmateer, Adrienne Parsons, Marina Puglia and Samantha Toth. The team is coached by Keith Parsons and assisted by Jackie Schnurr, Mike McCallion and Nick Nikolic.

NOVICE ALL-STARS TAKE CONSOLATION CHAMPIONSHIP
Mississauga, On - All-Stars in the Novice Division of the MNBA Softball League were Consolation Champions at this weekends 2000 Newmarket Select Tournament. On Saturday, the team played four games and compiled a 3-1 record. The girls were defeated 6-2 in the morning by Brampton Grey but regrouped to play spectacular softball for the remainder of the day. In those games, the team outscored the opposition 33-1 including a 15-1 win over Newmarket; a 9-1 win against Bloordale in the semi-final; and a decisive 9-0 win over Brampton White in the final.
First-year All-Star player Carrie MacMillan was named MVP by the Brampton coaches at the final game. Nicole Ennis and Christine Panetta put on exemplary pitching displays. Other members contributing to the win include Amanda Stephenson, Amanda Medeiros, Stephanie Gorrill, Allison Tomotsugu, Michelle ODoherty, Alexandra Zullo, Jordan Goodman and Melanie Cowland. Coaches are Joe Medeiros, Al Gorrill, Nick Tomotsugu, Glen MacMillan and trainer Leo Zullo.
